Requirements

To be eligible for membership, an undergraduate must:

  • Rank scholastically in the upper one-third of his or her class in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering or in a closely related curriculum which is approved by the Supreme Council
  • Have junior or senior standing
  • Have attended Cal Poly for a minimum of 3 quarters

Additionally, students must complete the initiation process before becoming a Chi Epsilon member.

Expectations

Membership into the organization is taken very seriously. Only those who display the four principles of scholarship, character, practicality, and sociability will be bestowed with the honor. A member shall take pride in the organization by participating in community service projects, attending meetings to discuss topics related to the profession, and promoting the profession by example. Through participation, members will maintain the respectability of the organization with their qualities of excellence and hard work.
