The fundamentals of engineering (FE) exam (formerly EIT) will be offered at Cal Poly starting with the October 25, 2008 exam. The FE exam at Cal Poly is being offered as a pilot program by the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and is open to all current Cal Poly students. The registration deadline is February 23, 2009 (fall exam) and the registration form is available at:

- Yes, anyone may attend the review sessions.
- Who teaches the review sessions?
- Various Cal Poly professors.
- If I miss a session can I pick up the packet in advance?

Exam Tips:
- Bring food (sack lunch) at test or in car because fairground food is costly, long lines, and not enough time to leave area.
- For traveling after the test, be prepared for delays that prolong the test such as a short lunch or a late ending (such as 6:30 p.m.)
-
Drive to the test site the day before or before 7 a.m. to locate the site.
- Avoid fast food the night before
- Website will provide when the EIT test results will come (expect 13+ weeks, maybe a week before you have to submit for a new test)
- Know your formula book pretty well
- Bubble in (don’t leave blank) sections you are not familiar with and focus on your specialty, expect a fast morning section and a long afternoon section
- Ask engineering advisers in your specific major for more helpful suggestions
