ENVE 436

Introduction to
Hazardous Waste Management


ENVE 436 presents an overview of industrial processes which produce hazardous wastes. In addition, students are presented with the principles of toxicology and review of state federal regulations for hazardous wastes, including RCRA, TSCA, and superfund laws. Storage, handling, and transport of hazardous wastes and unit operations, processes treatment and reduction are also addressed. Finally students will learn about the ultimate disposal of hazardous wate, including incineration and secure landfills.
(3 units, Prerequisites: ENVE 325 or ENVE 331 and Senior standing.)
